VISITING STRATHCONA

We gather every Sunday for worship. However what is a bit different about how we gather is that we meet collectively two Sundays in the month and then in smaller groups in and around the downtown eastside for "church in homes". This format enables us to disciple, learn and grow together in a more intimate way. 

When we gather, we often share a meal, worship and learn together. We are learning daily what it means to worship the Lord, not just in song, but with our whole life.  We are choosing to try and live justly and love our neighbours well, to disciple and share with one another and live as an authentic community. These values are core to who we are and something we want to call one another into. Our desire is that we become mature disciples who live out the words and works of Jesus together. 

If you want to get to know us, the best place to meet us initially would be at one of our worship gatherings at Strathcona Community Centre. Our hope is to be a loving, caring and encouraging community.

We also gather with our sister congregation 3-4 times a year because we belong to a larger church community.  We are united together by a shared vision and values and these are expressed in each congregation in different ways. So when we gather together as a whole church we celebrate our diversity, our life together, what we can learn from one another and enjoy sharing the table together.

Please come and visit us for one of our "Worship Gatherings" at Strathcona Community Centre. We meet there every other Sunday at 5pm. Check the calendar for the dates that we are there.
