WORSHIP
The term worship is so loaded these days - for some it just refers to the time of songs during our gatherings, and for others it means a whole life dedicated to the pursuit of Christ. Here at NLV community the term is so large for us and embraces so much meaning, and in that meaning we do acknowledge the rich heritage of sung worship, what with being a part of the Vineyard movement.
Worshipping through song is a great part of our history as the Vineyard movement changed the face of how song engaged with God, by creating songs that were not just about God, but rather TO God. Some great songwriters have come from this locality including Brian Doerkson, Andy Park, Monique Tute just to name a few!
Intimacy with God was and still is such a huge value that we hold when we gather and it still continues to be reflected in our songs and lives. Song is still a large part of our gatherings however it doesn't just stop there for us as we have embraced and acknowledged other creative languages in which to express our worship such as spoken word, visual art, video etc. To find out more about how the value of worship has grown within NLV and the larger Vineyard movement check out some of the links below.
